Shipping Policy :

Marking and Packing :
All products are marked with lot no, size, grade, degree and our trademark. Products are packed to confirm that there is no damage during transit. 01What are AR Plates, and how hard are your AR Plates?
AR plates are abrasion resistant steel plates made for heavy wear, so surfaces that rub against rock, ore, coal or scrap last far longer than mild steel. Our AR Plates are listed with a minimum hardness of 360 HBW (Brinell) and a typical hardness of 400 HBW across the 8 to 80 mm thickness range, which places them in the AR400 class. Some mills sell this class under names such as Hardox 400. Trade names belong to their owners, and Champak Industries is not affiliated with these manufacturers.
02What are the mechanical properties of AR Plates?
Yield strength is 1050 MPa for 8 to 19 mm plate, 1100 MPa for over 19 to 40 mm and 1000 MPa for over 40 to 80 mm. Tensile strength is 1200, 1250 and 1150 MPa for the same three bands. Elongation on a 50 mm gauge length is 14% in every band.
These figures come from our specification table. The mill test certificate for your plate is the final reference.
03What is the chemical composition of AR Plates?
Our composition table lists carbon 0.20, silicon 0.50, manganese 1.60, sulphur 0.010, phosphorus 0.025, chromium 1.00, molybdenum 0.70, niobium 0.060, vanadium 0.10, nickel 1.50, copper 0.40 and boron 0.004 (all in %). Exact values vary by mill and heat, so ask us for the raw material test report with your order.
04What sizes and thicknesses are available?
AR Plates are supplied in lengths of 6000 mm to 12000 mm, widths of 1500 mm to 2500 mm and thicknesses of 5 mm to 150 mm, as hot rolled plate (HR). The mechanical property data above covers 8 to 80 mm. We also offer these plates in different shapes, forms and finishes, and in customised sizes. 05What heat treatment and surface finish options do you offer?
Heat treatment is listed as Rolling/Normalised, N and Q+T. Surface paint options are PVDF, PE, HDP, SMP and EP. The production process is hot rolled plate (HR), and we also supply cold rolled and polished plates on request. Tell us the condition and finish you need when you enquire.
06Which brands and equivalent grades do you stock?

07Can AR Plates be cut, welded and fabricated?
Yes. AR Plates respond well to torch cutting, plasma cutting and all forms of fabrication, and they have a low carbon equivalency. At this hardness, weld with low-hydrogen consumables and control preheat and interpass temperature for the thickness. Too much heat softens the area beside the weld. Allow a larger bend radius than mild steel, and cut holes by plasma, laser or waterjet where you can. We also cut AR plate to drawing through our wear plate cutting service.

09What tests, standards and certificates do you provide?
We perform hardness, toughness, flaring, chemical, mechanical, impact, destructive, ultrasonic, strength and positive material tests. Products are visually checked for conformity to ASTM, DIN, ASME, MSS, EN and JIS codes and standards. On demand, official certified inspection organisations can witness the material reports, dimensions and quality conformity.
Certificates include a manufacturer test certificate as per EN 10204 / 3.1B, a 100% radiography test report, a raw materials certificate and a third party inspection report.
10How long does delivery take, and how are AR Plates packed and exported?
We give the delivery schedule when we quote. Orders may take up to 5–10 business days in transit. If a product is out of stock, orders may take up to 2–4 weeks to ship, and we will inform you if this happens.
Plates are packed in a wooden box, bundle, plastic wrap or carton box to suit your requirement, and export orders use standard export packaging in wooden cases. We export from Mumbai to the Middle East, Asia, North and South America, Europe and Africa, and supply across India.
