Cutting Services
Capacities differ between service pages: The Plasma Cutting page lists up to 64 mm carbon steel in a cutting area of 15000 × 3000, while the Wear Classifier & Blade Cutting page lists CNC plasma cutting of up to 300 mm thickness, 12000 mm length and 3500 mm width. Confirm the thickness, size and material your part needs when you send a drawing.
Plasma
Plasma Cutting
Plasma profile cutting of carbon, low and high alloy steels; the page lists up to 64 mm in carbon steel and 50 mm in stainless steel, in a cutting area of 15000 × 3000.

Wear plate
Wear Plate Cutting
Cutting of wear and high-strength steel plate, from full sheets or cut to order to your specification.
View Wear Plate Cutting
Liners
Wear Plate Liners
Liners for bulk-handling conveyors and chutes: the page lists reduced spillage and longer skirt board and belt life.

Blades
Wear Classifier & Blade Cutting
Classifier and blade parts cut from wear plate, with CNC plasma profile cutting capabilities listed on the page.

Wear steels
Wear & Abrasion Steels, Chute Liners, Wear Resistant Liners
AR 400 / 500 and HB 400 / 500 wear plate for dump truck bodies, conveyors, chutes, buckets, crushers and mining equipment.

1. Send the drawing
A drawing or sketch in PDF, DWG or DXF, with the material grade, thickness, quantity and tolerances.
2. Confirm the process
The cutting method is confirmed for the material and thickness: plasma, or another method where the grade needs it.
3. Receive the quotation
The quotation covers plate, cutting, any testing and packing, with price basis and validity.
4. Dispatch
Parts are marked and packed as agreed, with the documents named in the order.
What to Send for a Cutting Quotation
| Item | What to include |
|---|---|
| Drawing | PDF, DWG or DXF with dimensions, hole positions and tolerances |
| Material | Grade and standard, for example AR 400, S690 or ASTM A387 Gr 11 |
| Thickness and quantity | Plate thickness in mm and the number of parts or total weight |
| Edge requirement | Plain cut edge, bevel for welding or other edge preparation |
| Supply | Plate supplied by Champak Industries, or free-issue plate |
| Delivery | Destination, required date, packing and marking instructions |
Cutting Guidance by Material
The right cutting method depends on the material. The points below come from the plate group pages and the Plasma Cutting page; confirm the method for your grade when you send the drawing.
| Material | Cutting note | More |
|---|---|---|
| Carbon, low and high alloy steels | Plasma profile cutting is listed for these steels | Plasma Cutting |
| Stainless steel, aluminium and copper | The Plasma Cutting page says flame cutting does not suit them, because they form an oxide that stops the flame cutting; plasma is used instead | Plasma Cutting |
| Abrasion resistant plate | Thermal cutting softens a narrow zone at the edge; thick or hard plate may need preheat before cutting | Wear Resistant Plates |
| Manganese steel | Cut by plasma, laser or waterjet, not oxy-fuel, with low heat input | Manganese Steel Plates |
| Ballistic (armour) plate | Waterjet is preferred because it keeps the properties of the cut edge; laser and plasma are also suitable | Ballistic Steel Plates |
| Aluminium | Sawing or waterjet; flame cutting does not apply | Aluminium Plate |
Cutting Services: Frequently Asked Questions
01Which cutting services does Champak Industries list?
Plasma Cutting, Wear Plate Cutting, Wear Plate Liners, Wear Classifier & Blade Cutting, and Wear & Abrasion Steels, Chute Liners and Wear Resistant Liners.
02What can the plasma cutting service cut?
The Plasma Cutting page lists carbon, low and high alloy steels, up to 64 mm in carbon steel and 50 mm in stainless steel, in a cutting area of 15000 × 3000.
03Why is stainless steel not flame cut?
The Plasma Cutting page explains that flame cutting relies on oxidation, while stainless steel, aluminium and copper form an oxide that stops the flame cutting; plasma is used for them.
04Do cutting capacities differ between pages?
Yes. The Wear Classifier & Blade Cutting page lists up to 300 mm thickness, 12000 mm length and 3500 mm width. Confirm the capacity for your part when you send the drawing.
05What should I send for a quotation?
A drawing in PDF, DWG or DXF, the material grade and thickness, quantity, edge requirement, and the delivery destination and date.
06Can plate and cutting be quoted together?
Yes. State whether Champak Industries should supply the plate or whether it is free-issue.
07Which wear plates can be cut?
The wear pages list AR 400 / 500 and HB 400 / 500 wear plate, and the range includes other hardness classes and brands under Wear Resistant Plates.
08How do I request a cutting quotation?
Use the enquiry form below, WhatsApp or phone 0982 0944 724, and attach the drawing.
