How to Select the Right Nickel Alloy
- Process medium
- Concentration
- Temperature
- Design specification
Start with the process medium, concentration, operating temperature and design specification. Include pressure, cyclic loading, contamination, seawater flow or furnace atmosphere where relevant. Specify welding, forming and machining requirements before selecting the supply condition. Different alloys are not interchangeable simply because they contain nickel; use the project engineer’s approved grade and specification.
In Which applications is Nickel used?
- Chemical and petrochemical processing
- Electronics
- Processing equipment for maintaining product purity in handling foods, synthetic fibers and alkalies.
The characteristics of Nickel
- Corrosion resistance
- High Electrical conductivity
- High temperature resistance.
Size Range :-
- Thickness: 0.3mm to 3mm
- Width: 100mm to 3000mm
- Length: 1000mm above
Property guidance: Commercially pure nickel has higher electrical and thermal conductivity than many nickel alloys. Corrosion and temperature performance depend on the specific grade, condition and environment; the characteristics above are not a shared specification for every listed alloy.

Plate Thickness, Dimensions and Supply Condition
The original 0.3–3 mm range is not the full plate range described on our individual grade pages. Those pages also list Alloy 330 plate at 4.8–25.4 mm, Alloy 400 plate at 4.8–76.2 mm and Alloy 825 plate at 4.8–50.8 mm.
Send the exact thickness, width, length, quantity, flatness, edge finish and tolerances required. Specify annealed or as-rolled Alloy 400 where applicable, and the required heat-treatment grade for Alloy 625. Request availability against the exact grade and dimensions; a published range does not identify the dimensions of every individual plate in stock.

Frequently Asked Questions About High Nickel Alloy Plates
01Which high nickel alloy plates does Champak Industries supply?
Our range includes Alloy 330, Alloy 20, Alloy 400, Alloy 625 and Alloy 825 plates. Nickel 200 and Nickel 201 are also covered in our nickel offering. Specify the exact grade and form.
02How do I choose a nickel alloy for acid service?
Choose against the actual acid, concentration, temperature and contaminants. Alloy 20 and Alloy 825 are evaluated for selected acid applications, but the process specification determines the required material.
03Is Alloy 330 the same as Alloy 625?
No. Alloy 330 is a nickel-iron-chromium-silicon alloy associated with thermal-processing service. Alloy 625 is a nickel-chromium-molybdenum-niobium alloy selected for different strength and corrosion requirements.
04What is the difference between Nickel 200 and Nickel 201?
Nickel 201 has a lower carbon limit than Nickel 200. It is preferred for elevated-temperature service where Nickel 200 may suffer graphitization. Specify N02200 or N02201 rather than ordering simply “nickel”.
05Are plates limited to the original 0.3–3 mm range?
No. Individual grade pages also describe thicker plates. Provide your exact grade, thickness, width and length to request the applicable size and material availability.
06Which standard should I specify for Alloy 625 plate?
ASTM B443 covers Alloy 625 plate, sheet and strip. Identify the edition and Grade 1 or Grade 2 heat-treatment condition. Specify ASME requirements separately when your project requires them.
07Can I enquire for cut pieces or profiles?
Yes. Send the grade, thickness, drawing, piece quantity, tolerances and edge requirements. Include machining or welding requirements that affect the finished cut piece.
08What certificates and tests should my RFQ request?
Request the required material certificate, heat traceability and applicable project tests. State test methods, acceptance criteria and inspection requirements; a company ISO certificate does not replace material-specific documentation.
09Is there one minimum order quantity for all grades?
Specify the number of plates/pieces or total weight required. Ask for the minimum supply quantity for that grade, size and full-plate or cut-piece requirement in the quotation.
10How do I obtain a price and delivery offer?
Send grade, standard, condition, dimensions, quantity, processing, documentation requirements, destination and required date. Include export packing and delivery terms when relevant.
