WELDOX 700E Plates

Champak Industries' is a specialist supplier and exporter of High strength steels WELDOX 700E Plates. We understand customers whose requirement for High strength steels Plates is extreme and who cannot use inferior quality steel plates.

Weldox 700 is a general structural steel with minimum yield strength of 650 - 700 MPa depending on thickness. Weldox 700 meets the requirements of EN 10025 for the corresponding grades and thicknesses. Typical applications are demanding loadbearing structures.

Weldox 700 E is available in plate thicknesses of 4 – 160 mm and Weldox 700 F is available in plate thicknesses of 4 - 130 mm. Both grades are available in widths up to 3350 mm and lengths up to 14630 mm. For thicknesses over 100 mm preferred width is 1650 mm with untrimmed edge.

WELDOX 700E Plates: Purchasing Specification

RequirementWhat to specify
Grade and standardEN 10025-6 grade (S690Q, S690QL or S690QL1) or the named brand; state the edition and whether equivalent brands are acceptable.
Impact requirementCharpy temperature and energy: “L” grades are tested at −40 °C and “L1” grades at −60 °C.
ThicknessYield and tensile strength fall as thickness rises, so give the thickness range of your plates.
WeldingPreheat and consumables depend on carbon equivalent and thickness; ask for the mill’s welding recommendations.
DocumentsEN 10204 3.1 or 3.2 mill certificate, with ultrasonic testing where specified.

Reading the table: “E −400C” and “F −600C” mean −40 °C and −60 °C. Weldox is a trade mark of SSAB.

Unless otherwise agreed, transverse impact testing according to EN 10025-6 option 30 will apply. For thicknesses between 6 - 11.9 mm, sub-size Charpy V-specimens are used. The specifi ed minimum value is then proportional to the cross-sectional area of the specimen compared to a full-size specimen (10 x 10 mm)

Transverse testing: Transverse impact testing to EN 10025-6 option 30 applies unless otherwise agreed. “Specifi ed” means specified.

Choosing a Quenched and Tempered Structural Plate

These brands are all quenched and tempered high-yield structural steels used where design strength is limited by plate weight. They are comparable in strength class but not identical: thickness range, chemistry, toughness grades and welding advice differ by mill.

Applications for WELDOX 700E Plates

Ore-Processing plant with conveyors and crushing equipment
Mining, earthmoving and heavy equipment

Typical uses include cranes, lifting equipment, heavy transport, machine building and welded steel structures. Tell us the load, temperature and service conditions so the right grade and thickness can be quoted.

Cutting, Fabrication and Welding

Champak Industries describes full and part plate/profile supply and a plasma-cutting service. Send drawings, quantities, tolerances and edge preparation for your parts. High-strength plate needs controlled preheat, interpass temperature and heat input when welding, and forming limits depend on the grade and thickness; follow the mill’s recommendations.

WELDOX 700E Plates: Frequently Asked Questions

01

What is WELDOX 700E Plates?

WELDOX 700E is a quenched and tempered high-strength structural steel with 650–700 MPa minimum yield depending on thickness, listed in thicknesses of 4–160 mm and meeting the requirements of S690QL.

02

What is the difference between Weldox 700E and 700F?

Both are 700 MPa-class grades. The page lists 700E at −40 °C (meets S690QL) and 700F at −60 °C (meets S690QL1), in thicknesses of 4–160 mm and 4–130 mm.

03

How wide and long is Weldox 700 plate?

The page lists widths up to 3350 mm and lengths up to 14630 mm; for thicknesses over 100 mm the preferred width is 1650 mm with an untrimmed edge.

04

Does yield change with thickness?

Yes: 700 MPa minimum up to 53 mm, then 650 MPa up to 160 mm, with a lower tensile range above 100 mm.

05

Can WELDOX 700E be welded?

Yes, with low-hydrogen consumables and the preheat and interpass temperatures the mill gives for the grade and combined thickness.

06

Which certificate should I request?

An EN 10204 3.1 mill test certificate showing the brand and grade, heat number, chemistry and mechanical properties, plus impact results where you specify a test temperature.

07

Can another brand replace WELDOX 700E?

Brands of the same class are comparable, not identical. Chemistry, toughness, thickness range and processing advice differ by mill, so confirm any substitution with your engineer.

08

Can WELDOX 700E plate be cut to size?

Yes. Champak Industries lists full and part plate and profile supply and a plasma-cutting service; send drawings, quantities and tolerances with your enquiry.

09

Which sizes are available?

Availability depends on the grade, mill and thickness; send the thickness, width and length you need and sizes will be confirmed at quotation.

10

How do I get a price and delivery date?

Send the grade, thickness, size or cutting drawing, quantity, destination and required date through the enquiry form below, by WhatsApp or by phone.
